Our family inn “Paternwirt” in Maria Luggau. It is worth stopping at the Paternwirt, this village inn so typical for Lesach Valley where local specialities such as roast lamb, roast pork, roast ox, home-made filled ravioli and fine cakes are still served. While enjoying the afternoon sun streaming into the winter garden or the cosy restaurants you can listen to the conversations of the local people while having a snack or recovering from a long hike. In summer the inn is a perfect starting point for mountain bike or hiking tours as well as pilgrimages, and in winter it is ideal for fans of cross-country – and backcountry skiing. The monks of the monastery in Maria Luggau have already known what is good many centuries ago. They have not only found the spring with the mineral water when they were looking for herbs in Tuffbad, they have also given the name to the Paternwirt in the centre of the village Maria Luggau. Both, the Paternwirt and the 1. Almwellness-Hotel Tuffbad are owned and run by the family Obernosterer. Both houses still have the traditional charm of a family business where three generations look after the well-being of their guests.
